I know it’s crazy how many times we thought this would happen; however, considering how many fake scenarios have been created, it’s not our fault. However, the real story is that nothing happened between them. The finale of the third season gave us nothing to laugh about.
The finale brought us to the brink of collapse! who wouldn’t? if we knew Ted Lasso had left AFC Richmond? Not before they made them win in their own way against West Ham, they may not have won the Premier League but they were second and that’s what matters. What are the odds that Ted Laso Season 4 will happen?
A sad ending, maybe not for Ted as he is coming home to his son, but for us it was sadder than the Titanic (I may have gone overboard here). Maybe there’s hope for a fourth season, or maybe not. With Nate returning to their team and each character doing better than ever, it felt like their own goodbye. Perhaps the ending was given as a precaution if Apple TV+ doesn’t renew the series.
Star Jason Sudeikis has been very open about the fact that he envisioned only a three-season arc for the character,” The story is done. It sounds like a political answer, but it’s true. We only started these three [periods], then this thing became a big old thing.”
After hearing this, some of us have already lost hope, although Jason’s statement does not sit well with Brendan Hunt. He expressed his intentions for Ted Lasso Season 4: “Yes. Another arc is certainly possible after this one. We’ve always seen it as a three-time thing. Originally, the three seasons were supposed to be modeled more on what The Office did, you know: six episodes, special, boom, we’re done. We’ve definitely expanded those beats, but that doesn’t mean the whole kit and caboodle is being thrown away.”
No matter how many statements we go through, nothing can be guaranteed until an official statement is released. Even Apple TV+, known for not running multiple seasons, seemed to tease more Ted Lass after the Season 3 finale aired. A week later, the network’s account tweeted a photo of Roy, Beard and Nate with the message “Smells like potential”.
We can conclude that the chances of Ted Lasson Season 4 are not as low as before. With the blessing of Apple TV+ and creators looking to fix the kinks, a fourth installment may happen.
