Some criticized the line “She’s better known for the things she does on the mattress” in her song “Better Than Revenge” as “slut-shaming”.

In the new version, Swift changed the lyrics to “He was the moth to the flame, she held the matches.”

This is not the first time the singer has changed lyrics that some find offensive.

In her 2006 breakup anthem “Picture to Burn” from her debut album, the lyrics were changed to “It’s okay, you won’t mind if I say so.”

The original line, referring to her friends, was: “It’s okay, I’ll tell mine you’re gay.”

Swift is re-recording her albums after music manager Scooter Braun purchased the master recordings of her first six albums in 2019.

Braun reportedly sold them to a private equity firm in 2020 for $300 million.
